Here's Juston's words about this most recent purchase:
"He told me it wasn't working, but it took me 2 pulls and i had it up and running like a top. It even has a working battery, and a clean title. It is a 5 speed with reverse, but I have not been able to get in in reverse yet. New seat cover and front tires is all it needs."

Race Prep in Full Swing
All week I am coming home early to prep the two machines that will be making the trek to Wendover for our first ever competitive race. Today I changed the oil and tranny fluid in the TRX and finished up some of the touch up that was sorely needed (it is a pretty screaming beast and looks way bigger than the Raptor).
The Raptor got a bath, chain cleaned off, as well as some touch up on the frame and A arms. Last week it got a new air filter, batteries for the Trail Tech, and a new spark plug. I also adjusted the front shocks to make them softer (all the way down). For fun I painted the Super Trapp exhaust tip flat black (heat safe) as it was already on it's way to black. I took both bikes up the road and they are pretty equal in noise but the TRX really pulls harder.
This is a picture of the spark arrestor that I bought for the very expensive DASA Exhaust system the TRX has. Fortunately the Raptor has a spark arrestor already. I ordered a new brake rotor for the TRX and a swing arm guard, since (just like with the Raptor) the first time I had the TRX out I hit a rock and bent it, I also bought my number plates and number.
So I have spent way too much in prep for this 126mile race, traded away my motorcycle, and will have taken off about 3 days of work.
I have a feeling it will all be worth it (even if I break down a mile into the race). Oh, I have to let Dan know that the Raptors rear bearings feel like they are going (that will be next on the list to fix).
I can't wait!

Knolls April 24th 2010, Race Prep and Proving Grounds
So, nobody came out to ride but me and Jared, but we understand a birth in the family will do that to a ride. The ride was awesome. We left my house at about 1330 right after I traded away my precious motorcycle for an '06 Honda TRX 450R. I feel good about the trade so far. The bike has been abused, but it has wonderful potential. Anyhow, Jared and I went on probably about 4 hours of pretty hard riding to see if our bikes and our bodies would hold up to the test we will have next Saturday. We will and so will the bikes. And the good news is now Dan can ride my Raptor for the race!!!
Back to the Knolls, we pretty much rode every terrain available including mud. We went to the furthest reaches and back, we maxed our speed, and even saw a baby bird up close. It was a perfect ride day!
I'll list some pictures and then vids on the next post.
Loaded up and ready to ride.
It was hard to pay that entrance fee, but the camera to the left would have know.
J Testing out the extended swing arm and a arms, and yep, they really do work.
ef yu kros dat fens yu mite splode.
Nice view and nice bead-locks!
This is looking out over the forbidden govt land, beautiful.
Cement mud all over, thank goodness for goggles.
That stuff is really hard to get off.
I think we scared this little feller pretty good, he was young just learning to fly (no tail feathers yet).
Just about done for the day, water fowl in the background.

Bor Quad rules
Here is the rules we use for the Wendover race and we missed early registration, so now it is $15 and $90 or $40 and $90.
Most important is spark arrestor, helmet, boots, and front and rear number plates. Rocky Mountain ATV has them for cheap.
Fill out the registration forms (there are two) and have cash as they won't take checks or credit cards on Friday or Sat morning.
Jared/Emily and Dan, let's do this thing!!!!! It will be some good memories I guarantee it. Em my wife is coming so you guys will have to snap fotos for us.

I listed my 2002 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 for trade for a new race Quad
I am trying the audio swap feature in YouTube, because my little camera didn't pick up the sound of my bike the way I had hoped.

Big Red II back together again
I put Ole Nasty II back together finally. I painted some parts, added a 2" ball, and put the busted up plastics back on it, but at least it looks complete and can be used again. The kids wanted a ride but it took me a couple hours to get it all back. now I have a full set of nasty plastics for Ole Nasty I!

Listened to Conf while cleaning the garage
It has been a good Saturday. I went in to do a little catch up at the office and then came home before noon. When the next session of conference started I headed out to the garage with my MP3 player and a coat.. It was good to listen to those good people share their strength. I especially liked Elder Holland's talk, he sure has a wonderful way of sharing. The garage is full, but at least it looks better, and more importantly my wife can now park back where she normally does. All in all it has been a productive and relaxing Saturday. I plan on hitting the Priesthood session in about a 1/2 an hour and then enjoying the evening with my wife and the TV.
:)
Still pretty full, but better.
